Pilot Program
Oversight and Review of Ongoing Grants
Annual progress reports are required of all Pilot Grants (see example below under Pilot Grant Forms). These reports will be reviewed by the Executive Committee to determine if funding should be continued for the second (and final) year of the funding period. Additionally, Investigators holding Pilot and Feasibility Projects will present progress reports to the External Advisory Committee at the annual retreat. The recommendations of the External Advisory Board will be given to the Executive Committee members along with pilot reviews and will influence the final decision for continued funding. Investigators will be required to inform the Director immediately if external funding is secured for a pilot project funded by the Center. At the time of termination, review by the Executive Committee will determine if the remaining funds should be returned to the Center for distribution in new pilots. If this should occur in the middle of a funding year, the P/F Project with the next best score from the previous review will be given the funds for the remainder of the funding period. If this occurs late in the year, the moneys will be added to the next round of competitive review for Pilots.
